Baylor Fencing Camp

Fencing is a sport that develops agility, quickness and concentration. The Baylor Fencing Camp, a coed camp for ages 14 and up, is a fast paced, fun-oriented camp designed to help develop individual skills, tactics and fundamentals of the game. In this enjoyable week of training, qualified coaches demonstrate and teach skills and proper techniques through group lessons, games, drills, individual lessons and plenty of free electric bouting. Part of each day is spent on physical fitness with emphasis on core strength. Classes are structured so that anyone from beginners to top-level competitors will benefit.

Camp Director
Walid Mahran - Camp Director. Fifteen years of coaching experience. Three-time member of Olympic Fencing Team. Former international ranking fencer. Champion coach by USFA.

Assistant Director
Kristin Vines is Baylor’s varsity fencing coach. She is ranked 2nd in the nation in Veteran Women’s Foil 40-49 and 3rd in the nation in Veteran Women’s Foil Combined. She won the gold medal in the 2002 summer nationals, Veteran Women’s Foil. Vines won the bronze medal at 2003 NAC Division II and finished in the top three in three consecutive summer national Veteran Women’s Foil competitions. In 1993-2002 she was the Tennessee Women’s Foil Champion (no longer eligible after 2002) and has fenced in Olympic trials and the 2003 World Cup in New York.
