Baylor Walkabout

For more than 40 years, our after-school Walkabout program has connected students to the outdoors every day after classes and on longer trips throughout the year. While not mandatory (except for the Freshman Trip and Senior Trip), Walkabout can be one of the most demanding activities on campus. To see travel blogs, photos, videos, and more from the afternoon program click here.

Did you know?
The term “Walkabout” is used by Australian aboriginal tribes to describe a young person’s transition into adulthood through self-discovery in the wilderness.

Meet the Baylor Camp Walkabout Director

Bett Adams '02 began his outdoor career on Baylor’s Freshman trip in 1999 when he first sat in a kayak, and has been involved with Baylor Walkabout ever since. In his lengthy career as an outdoor professional, Bett has worked with Middle School aged students in all aspects of outdoor education, but in the end he’s just a kid at heart who loves the fun and adventure that can only be experienced through summer camp.
