Leadership Baylor Summer Experience
It’s true. At Baylor, we talk to our students about leadership a lot. That’s because we are committed to helping them discover their individual leadership potential and apply what they learn to real-life situations every day. We’re now extending these important life lessons to non-Baylor students through our Leadership Baylor Summer Experience. If you are interested in learning skills that will help you make an impact at your school and in your community, or if you just want to know more about leadership in general, you should consider participating in this exciting new program. It all takes place on Baylor’s amazing campus June 21 - 26, 2009.
The Best Way to Learn Leadership
What’s so great about our program? We believe the best way to learn leadership is to practice it through hands-on, real-life, problem-solving, outside-the-box-thinking, (and sometimes soul-searching) fun. This philosophy makes it the only one of its kind in the southeast – perhaps even the country.
- The Leadership Baylor Summer Experience is a five-day experiential camp designed for high school students entering 10th, 11th, or 12th grade in the fall. We have high standards for our program and our participants, and our activities are specifically tailored for motivated students in these age groups.
- Participants enjoy a variety of leadership development activities and an outreach service component benefiting a select group of local non-profit agencies.
- Baylor’s mission is to foster in students the desire and ability to make a positive difference in the world. It’s a mission we take to heart, and it is one of the main reasons the Leadership Baylor Summer Experience exists. After attending our camp, we believe you will be inspired and empowered to make a positive difference in your own school or community.
- You may want to include your summer experience with us on your future college essays and interviews. Each day we will take some time to help you think more deeply about what you have learned and how to articulate it in a meaningful way.
