We will learn how to make rivets of non-conventional materials and will use them in projects. We will also learn how to lash and tie, and use a variety of micro hardware, including screws, washers, nuts and tacks. We will spend time exploring different textures and forming techniques including fold forming, hammering, and drilling. We will experiment with liver of sulfur patina to enhance the aesthetic appeal of your metals, and talk about final touches. The projects in this class are guided by technique. Every student’s work is unique to their tastes and abilities.
