Leadership Baylor Speaker Series
Joe Ehrman
Founder - Building Men and Women for Others
Joe Ehrmann speaks to students on finding the meaning, value, and purpose of life.
Former NFL player Joe Ehrmann spoke to Baylor students, sharing his inward journey on finding the meaning, value, and purpose of life after the untimely death of his younger brother. Emphasizing the value of relationships and finding a sense of purpose, Ehrmann asked students to "not be indifferent" to the opportunities that lie ahead. "You are privileged to attend Baylor School...whenever you have privilege it is always tied to responsibility," said Ehrmann. "Your generation cannot afford to be apathetic or indifferent...when you come together with a clear purpose you represent hope."
Joe and his wife, Paula, are co-founders of Building Men and Women for Others, an organization that seeks to redefine and reframe the social responsibility of sports, coaches, parents and players, as well as addressing issues of violence and child advocacy. He is the subject of the New York Tiimes bestseller Season of Life by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Jeffrey Marx. Marx spoke as part of the Leadership Baylor Speaker Series in 2007.
