Help with Podcasts
There is a lot going on on the Baylor campus and now you can enjoy guest speakers, student recitals and other programming via Baylor Podcasts. The following are the answers to several typical questions to help you on your way.
- What is podcasting?
- The New Oxford American Dictionary defines "podcast" as "a digital recording of a radio broadcast or similar program, made available on the Internet for downloading to a personal audio player." Once downloaded you can hear or view the podcast whenever you want from your computer or a portable media player. You can also simply enjoy Baylor podcasts online at our website.

- How do I access Baylor Podcasts?
- There are several ways you can listen or view Baylor Podcasts.
1. On the web – just click the “Listen” or “Video” buttons to listen/view online. You may want to do this to preview the program before you download it.
2. Download – click on the download button to manually download an audio mp3 or video file.
3. Subscribe – when you subscribe to Baylor podcasts, your podcast subscription software (see below) will automatically download new Baylor Podcasts as they become available.

- What do I need to subscribe to Baylor podcasts?
- You will need podcast subscription software installed on your local computer in order to subscribe to Baylor Podcasts. This software is typically free - options include the Apple's iTunes (which has the subscription software built in), or other services such as Odeo or iPodder, to manage your podcast subscriptions.
- You can listen to podcast audio from your computer (provided your computer has a sound card and can play MP3 audio files). If you want to make your podcasts portable, you will need to transfer them from your computer to your portable media player (iPod, Rio, etc.)
- Note: You only need subscription software if you want to subscribe and get latest podcasts automatically downloaded. Otherwise you can just listen online.
