Dr. Grady Butler

College Dean, Morehouse Collge

Grady Butler was arrested in October 1960 for attempting to eat at a restaurant in Rich’s in Atlanta. He spent several days in the Fulton County jail along with his cellmate, Martin Luther King, Jr. Since that time he has continued a life of purpose and service as a college dean (Morehouse), pastor, and clinical chaplain. From 2000-2008 he served as a Trustee on the Greenville County School Board in Greenville, South Carolina.
