Why I give

"When I attended Baylor I thought I was learning math and English and science. And I did. But it was the habits that I acquired that made all the difference after I graduated. Fifty years later I still ration my time among competing priorities. I still work steadily on projects until they are done. I still work comfortably within a team. I still spend time outdoors each day walking or running or cycling.

"I believe the high school years are the critical ones in establishing a young person's life skills. I want to enable some other youngsters to eventually look back upon these years with the appreciation (and affection) that I do. I can think of no better way than to help underwrite their education at Baylor."
