Baylor FIRST® LEGO® League Team Advances to SuperRegionals

The Baylor FIRST® LEGO® League Team was one of 36 teams to advance to the FIRST® LEGO® League TVA SuperRegionals after competition in the TVA Chattanooga Regional Qualifier earlier in December. This is the second year in a row that the Baylor team has advanced to the SuperRegionals.

The qualifying team, pictured above, includes (bottom) sixth grader Michael Iqbal; (second row) seventh grader Ally Creswell and eighth graders Shayan Bajestani and Colby Hawk; (third row) sixth graders Jack Champion and Redding Batt and eighth grader Joshua Lefkoff; and (top) sixth grader Crawford Higdon. The team is coached by faculty members Dr. Mary Loveless and Dr. Vince Betro.

"The team improved in every area from last year's competition and they will be honing their skills even more over the next couple of weeks," said Betro, mentioning that the SuperRegional competition is scheduled for Jan. 13 at Chattanooga State Community College.

"Congratulations to all these students," said Loveless. "Our robot, design, project, and core values were all very solid in our qualifier. Now we have a bit of time to make them even more amazing."
