Distinguished Scholars Program

Baylor's Distinguished Scholar's Program is about to enter its fourth year of attracting and enrolling the strongest students available to us. The program has exceeded every expectation. We have enrolled 12 excellent scholars as our Distinguished Scholars and in each of the three recruitment years, we have also enrolled another 4 or 5 of the DSP finalists, thus adding immeasurably to our boarding program. The program has allowed us to "tell the Baylor story" in schools well beyond those that traditionally feed us students. The program has allowed alumni to participate in the life of the school in a way which is meaningful and long lasting.

Our intent is to fully endow the program so that the dollars used to fund the DSP do not come from our need-based financial aid dollars, thus preserving those dollars for their intended purpose. For information on how you can help with this very important scholarship fund, please contact Matt Lewis at matt_lewis@baylorschool.org or call him at 267-8506 ext. 387.

Student Perspectives

"Baylor has really been everything I expected it to be and more. I have especially loved the whole boarding experience, as well as the opportunity to study abroad in Australia for over two months through the Round Square Exchange Program." - Distinguished Scholar '07

"I came to Baylor in hopes of opening doors to the future. I have gained so much from my experiences in Walkabout and as a community service site leader that I would have been less likely to experience elsewhere." - Distinguished Scholar '07
