Baylor Players Honor Retirement of Schaack Van Deusen ‘61

Over 60 former Baylor Players celebrated the retirement of veteran theater director Schaack Van Deusen ’61 at his final performance of Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” in the Roddy Performing Arts Center. Former Baylor Players travelled from as far away as Los Angeles, Sarasota, and New York City to bid their favorite director farewell.

Over 150 alumnae, moms and friends of Baylor came out on Thursday, May 3 for Fashion's Night Out – an exclusive shopping event at Warehouse Row. Guests enjoyed fabulous food and drinks and received a limited edition Baylor tote bag compliments of Southeastern Salvage while retailers offered exclusive discounts for Baylor event attendees!

Joli Anderson Named Ireland Faculty Chair

Community Service Director Joli Anderson is this year’s recipient of the Glenn Ireland II Chair for Distinguished Teaching. Anderson was selected by her colleagues for exemplary teaching and other significant contributions that support the mission of the school. In her 16 years at Baylor, Anderson has built a program that has touched the lives of thousands of Baylor students, and a countless number of children in the greater Chattanooga area and in Kingston, Jamaica. As head of the school's largest non-athletic extracurricular program, Anderson is a visible and passionate role model for servant leadership, diligently instructing students each day on the importance of having compassion for the least privileged in our society.
