Baylor featured in Wall Street Journal and Sports Illustrated
Shortly after the school’s athletic program was listed in Sports Illustrated as one of the top 25 programs in the country, The Wall Street Journal featured the school’s boarding program. Citing interviews with Baylor alumni, current boarding students and their parents, the article highlighted the emotions parents grapple with when considering boarding and the stereotypes that exist about boarding schools. The most damaging and patently untrue stereotype depicts the boarding student as a kid with a “problem” or a kid coming from a family with “problems.” In reality, boarding students are both independent and capable. Students and their families select boarding because they recognize the unique benefits of learning where they live.
