Who are legacy families?
Baylor recognizes legacy families as prospective students, current students, and alumni whose parents, and/or grandfather attended Baylor.
One Legacy Family's Story: Moore Baylor Pride
The first day of middle school for the Moore triplets last fall marked an exciting milestone in their lives and the beginning of a new chapter in Baylor’s history of coeducation. Henry, Rob, and Will are the children ofAllison Yates Moore ’88 and Freddie Moore ’88, making them the first children of one of our female graduates to attend Baylor and the first children whose parents both attended Baylor.
Transferring from GPS in 1986, one year after Baylor made the move to admit girls, Allison was thrilled to have the opportunity to attend the same school that her father, Allen ’64, and grandfather Pierce ’41 had attended. “Freddie and I have known each other since we were very young. We had a few classes together at Baylor and were always very close friends. We didn’t start dating until the end of college.”
Today, their alumni pride shines bright with the added bonus of being Baylor parents. “It is neat to see the boys as excited about being part of the Baylor experience as we were then. It seems that this place just keeps getting better and better.” The boys are members of the class of 2016.
