Tuition Payment Options
While each Baylor family assumes primary responsibility for the cost of their children’s education, financial aid support and payment plan options may be available for those who need additional assistance financing tuition. Baylor strives to assist families in looking at the different payment options or combination of available options.
Tuition Payment Options
Option 1: Full Payment
Full payment for the 2008-09 academic year, due on June 1, 2008
Option 2: Seven-month Payment Plan.
This option allows the balance remaining after enrollment deposit and applicable financial aid to be paid in seven equal installments.
Option 3: Educational Loans
Educational loans are available through third-party lenders. Tuition loan programs assist many families in making tuition payments more affordable by providing the funds upfront and spreading the payments over a longer period of time than tuition payment plans allow. Note: families sometimes combine Option 3 (loans) and Option 4 (payment plans). For more information about loan programs with links to online resources, click here.
Option 4: Adjusted Payment Plans
These plans help reduce the need to borrow and save on interest charges. Payments can be made by mail, automatic debit from a checking or savings account, or by credit card. Note: families sometimes combine Option 3 (loans) and Option 4 (payment plans). For more information about tuition payment plans with links to online resources, click here.
Option 5: Need-Based Financial Aid
Need-based financial aid combined with a payment plan and/or educational loan by a third party.
Depending on how much need-based financial aid they may qualify for, some families are then able to make up a portion - or perhaps even all of the remaining difference - through payment plans and/or educational loans.
Option 6: Merit-Based Scholarships for Boarders
Baylor has established the merit-based Distinguished Scholars Program for boarding students. Approximately 16 scholarships, ranging from approximately one-quarter to full, are awarded each year. For more information about our Distinguished Scholars Program, click here
Option 7: Need-Based Financial Aid
This option is designed to help those families who could not realistically consider private education. Like most other schools, the Baylor uses School and Student Services (SSS) to assess a family’s level of need. We also require a school application and tax returns as part of the confidential process. SSS, located in Princeton, NJ, provides unbiased and uniform information to schools.
