7th Grade Curriculum

The seventh curriculum continues the emphasis of hands-on activities and authentic problem-solving experiences introduced in the sixth grade. Some examples include lab-oriented math and science courses; research papers, and required modern languages.. Art and music classes, which include history and theory as well as studio production, make extensive use of technology.

Math classes meet five times a week for 45 minutes per period all four quarters.

(Student selection of a foreign language constitutes a two year commitment.)

Language classes meet each day for 45 minutes, all four quarters.

Studio Arts / Exploration 7

Studio Art (Two Quarters)
Exploration (Two Quarters)
Studio Arts and Exploration classes meet for 90 minutes twice per week for two quarters.

Science 7                           

Life Science (Two Semesters)
Science classes meet every day for 90 minutes for two quarters.

English 7

English
English classes meet two days for 90 minutes and one day for 45 minutes per week, all four quarters.

Geography 7

Geography (2 Quarters)
Geography classes meet every day for 90 minutes, for two quarters.

Arts Electives

Intermediate Band

Dance / Drama
Students must participate in Arts Electives. Arts Electives meets three times a week for 40 minutes per class, all four quarters.

Wellness

The Middle School years are a time of significant development for students with respect to physical, mental, social, and emotional changes. Our Wellness Program emphasizes making responsible health decisions and provides information and opportunities for mature discussion on a wide range of current health topics and issues. The course is offered to all Middle School students. Wellness meets once a week for 45 minutes per period for two quarters.
