The Arts Flourish Here!

Theatre, chorus, band, orchestra, dance, painting, drawing, sculpture, pottery, digital design and photography are all offered at Baylor and the school calendar is packed each year with performances, concerts, exhibits, and special trips.

We are also fortunate to welcome to campus throughout the year authors, choreographers, dancers, musicians, poets, and artists from all disciplines as visiting artists and guest lecturers. With the guidance of experienced faculty -- many of whom are artists in their own right -- the adventure of fine arts at Baylor can be a transforming experience for our student artists and performers.

  • Our fine arts program offers student trips ranging from southeastern choral and band competitions to painting in Spain.
  • More than half of our fine arts faculty hold advanced degrees and are recognized as authorities in their fields both within and outside of the area.
  • Theatre performances range from the formality of the stage to impromptu one acts in the quad.
  • The 90-voice Baylor School Concert Choir, under the direction of Vic Oakes, received a rating of 11.42 on a 12-point scale at the State High School Choral Festival in 2016. This rating was highest score achieved by the choir in its five years of participation in the festival and was the sixth highest rating among the 80 high school choirs attending the festival. The choir also scored 291 out of 300 possible points at the OrlandoFest choral festival, earning a gold rating and designation as festival champion.
